Back to basics
Many of you won’t know this about me (Gracie), but before I owned Called, or even went “full-time” with my artwork, and even before my Gallery days, I was actually in the blog world. I used to write multiple posts a week about everything from decorating for parties and color theory to DIY Halloween costumes for my dog🤣 Sounds so weird now, but I got sponsored products and hosted online events and really loved the little blog community. That is how I first started my social media; it was certainly a space to share my posts and give more BTS of what I was doing for each post. But then life changed; I wasn’t doing as much DIY, I got a dream job in a gallery, and social media changed to where I didn’t “need” the blog format anymore. Then life changed a few more times before I ended up opening the studio. Now life and social media algorithms have changed so quickly I don’t really know where I fit in anymore. I truly prefer the long-form content of blogs, while I don’t think I’m a good writer (sorry for ALL the typos, spelling and grammar have never been my thing!) I do love getting my thoughts out through writing. Social media feels more like a chore and less of a space that I can actually share the jumble of thoughts that consume my brain most days. SO I’m just gonna take it back. Back to blogging, back to wordy stories that could probably be much shorter if I got to the point, but really back to trying to explain my head and my heart to the people that really matter. Because I know if you have made it this far, then you really do matter, you care enough to keep reading past the first few sentences, typos and lack of eye catching photos.
Welcome to the first of who knows how many, and buckle up cause I don’t know exactly what I’m doing by any means!
